The Problem of Plastic

Our society uses a huge amount of plastic.  Although we can recycle many types of plastic, much of it is thrown away and not recycled.  What happens to all of this plastic? 

One of the very visible signs of our use and disposal of plastic is something called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.  Below are some links to videos that talk about the "Problem of Plastic".
